Animal Breeding & Genetics is as a chair group within Animal Science that merged with Genetics and Biodiversity cluster of the Research Centre into the Animal Breeding and Genomics Centre. This website is mainly about the Chair Group. The Animal Breeding and Genetics group provides education and generates knowledge on the role and sustainable use of genetic variation in animals. The Animal Breeding and Genetics group contributes to our quality of life by providing knowledge to support the adequate supply of safe and healthy food of animal origin, and to enhance the health, welfare and productivity of animals. To achieve this, the group combines expertise in the fields of quantitative genetics, molecular genomics.
